My name is Delia…
I’m the one who usually rescues dogs from the streets and, less often, from kill shelters.
I’m exhausted every day when I get home because it’s not easy taking care of so many dogs. It’s not just the physical work, but the stress and emotional labor. My mood changes ten times a day, depending on the problems I encounter.
I’m happy about an adoption, then I rush a dog to the vet. Bad news. Hospitalizations. Back to the shelter, more field work, and back to the shelter. Vaccinations, deworming, taking the dogs to be spayed and back again to the shelter, where I’m on the phone talking to everyone who needs help, or to prospective adopters, with whom I have to speak in three different languages.
It’s not easy… but I love what I do and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.

We're fighting for our four legged friends!
Since 2016
Help us do more!
We use the word “fight” because it is difficult to keep up with all the requests we receive every day, the stress of sometimes caring for over 600 animals, and the constant worry of having the necessary resources to give them the life they deserve.
Everything we work for is driven by the desire for lasting change. Whether it’s a rescued animal finding a responsible family or long-term strategies for spaying and controlling the overpopulation of free-roaming animals, we have one major goal: to significantly improve the situation.
Those who have known us from the very beginning can easily see how far we’ve come. For those who are just getting to know us, we hope you’ll stay with us so you, too, can see a significantly better situation in another 10 years. For everyone, we have one message: help us do more!
Team CARE FOR DOGS Romania
Rescuing animals is a noble, important and high-stakes mission. Whether they are lost, abandoned, injured, or abused, every animal deserves a chance at a better life.
“People recommend us because we are fully dedicated to rescuing animals. That means sleepless nights, dirty clothes, happy moments and not-so-happy ones, and a lot of hard work.”
